Radiaction Medical Secures $12.6M to Expand Radiation Protection

Posted on August 29, 2023

Radiaction Medical, a medical device company that provides radiation protection to the entire medical staff during interventional procedures, today announced two major developments.

The company raised $12.6 million in Series C2 funding led by U.S. private equity fund InnovaHealth Partners. The funding will be used to expand Radiaction’s footprint in the United States, develop additional features for its radiation protection system, and grow its clinical publication pipeline.

Radiaction appointed Christopher Barys to its Board of Directors. Barys joins the organization with over 30 years of medical device sales, marketing, and business experience, including leading growth and innovation within the cardiac catheterization and image-guided spaces.

“We are excited to announce these two significant milestones for Radiaction,” said Jonathan Yifat, Radiaction CEO. “The funding will allow us to accelerate our growth in the U.S. and bring our radiation protection system to even more hospitals and clinics. The addition of Christopher Barys to our Board is a major coup, and his experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow.”

Radiation Exposure in Catheterization Labs

Radiation exposure within the catheterization lab is a major occupational health risk. Studies have shown that medical staff who work in catheterization labs are at increased risk for a variety of health problems, including brain tumors, breast cancer, cataracts, cognitive degradation, thyroid disease, fetal exposure, and orthopedic injuries.

Radiaction’s Radiation Protection System

Radiaction’s radiation protection system is the first and only advanced technology to proactively block radiation at the source. This provides comprehensive, head-to-toe protection for the entire interventional team while allowing unencumbered patient care, access, and service.

The system is clinically supported with extensive lab testing and real-world, peer-reviewed, published literature validating its performance in clinical settings.
